“ | Dude, don't be itchy man. Let me tell you something. This summer was super boring until you showed up. I have more fun with you than, like, practically anybody else. And if you ever stopped being my friend... I would, like, throw myself into the Bottomless Pit! | „ |
~ Wendy Corduroy to Dipper Pines. |
Wendy Corduroy is a major character in the animated series, Gravity Falls. She is a high school girl with a part-time job at the Mystery Shack with a very laid-back attitude. During her summer at the shack, she becomes friends with the Pines twins and briefly became the object of affection for Dipper Pines. She is voiced by Linda Cardellini.
What Makes Her Love Exalted?[]
- She is extremely charismatic and friendly.
- She is intelligent enough to realize Dipper Pines fancies her just because he said certain things under his breath, but didn't say anything because she sincerely valued their bond.
- Despite rightfully friend-zoning Dipper, the two of them have a wonderful friendship along with Mabel Pines, who she often serves as the voice of reason for. She also acknowledges how lovable, brilliant, and charming he is several times.
- Her rejection of him for being so young is completely justified and it's played as such in the show; Dipper's awkwardness and naivety makes for a great foil to her laid-back and independent nature in their platonic friendship, especially because most high-schoolers struggle to relate to middle-schoolers anyway. Also, despite him doing toxic and outright dangerous things to win her over, especially in the first season, she never said he was anywhere close to being an undesirable manchild, just that the two obviously aren't the best fit for each other romantically.
- To drive the turning point home, she actually did surprisingly give him a chance, once, albeit in an alternate timeline, which was literally created by Dipper's fascination with her getting highly dangerous if it weren't for Mabel.

- She has excellent skills in handling an ax as well as in climbing and overall a good fighter who even beat a clone of herself. Being raised by her cartoonishly brash father has certainly toughened her up from the very beginning.
- She does a good job breaking up with Robbie (who at least didn't screw up the timeline to impress her), and then she calls Dipper out on his selfish and thoughtless response, which was satisfying especially since it helped prove she was too old for him.
- She's subversive since the show gives Dipper reasons to hit on her such as her charisma and sense of adventure and her being nothing but sweet to him from start to finish, instead of making him come across as a huge simp like most cartoons would've done.
