I will defeat you Stain because you are a criminal... and I am a hero!
~ Tenya's declaration before finishing Stain.
I'm a novice. I can't measure up to their standards! Be that as it may... I have to stand up! Never again! Never again will they... or my brother... leave me behind in the dust!
~ Tenya Ida about Izuku, Shoto and his brother in "Re-Ingenium".

Tenya Iida, also known by his hero name, Turbo Hero: Ingenium, is a major protagonist in the My Hero Academia franchise.

He is a student at U.A. High School training to become a Pro Hero, and the class president of Class 1-A. He's one of Izuku Midoriya's closest friends, as well as having engines on his arms, everywhere. He uses the name of Ingenium, following his older brother's retirement as a hero.

He is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa in the Japanese version of the anime (who also voiced Nero from the Devil May Cry video game series) and by J. Michael Tatum in the English dub.

What Makes Him Love Exalted?[]

  • While he did yell at Izuku for muttering, during the Entrance Exam, this was simply to stop him from being a distraction for the other participants.
  • Apologizes to Izuku for his previous treatment during the Entrance Exam and commends him for saving Ochaco for seeing something he was unable to see, explaining that saving others is just as important as helping others.
  • When he notices Izuku has badly injured his finger, in the Quirk Apprehension Test, he realizes that Izuku has barely trained with his Quirk and asks if he's alright.
  • Even though he can be strict and a bit of a control freak with enforcing the school's rules, he is never intentionally mean about it and is always applying his leadership skills to help classmates preparing themselves for any situation and fac against the League of Villains.
  • He is very polite, even around jerks of the school like Bakugo.
  • He does not look down on Uraraka's motive to be a hero and reassures her that being a hero for a living isn't selfish since he knows how well-intentioned and kind-hearted she is, and was even inspired by her noble ambition of using wealth to help her family.
  • When Izuki was grievously injured in his battle by Todoroki, he went to check up on him and was overall happy that his surgery is successful.
  • He is quite understanding and empathetic since he understands if people find the "Hero Killer" to be cool due to his convictions even though Hero Killer caused torment to his brother and even himself.
  • He scolded and disciplined Mineta for peeping into the girls' changing room, thus making him wise and a good disciplinarian with a strong moral compass.
  • He only tried to safely capture Midoriya alongside her other classmates since he was worried for Midoriya's safety and condition after he left U.A.
  • He was happy to have All-Might as an impressive role model and as a teacher when he was approached by the media in regard to All Might.
