Simba is the titular main protagonist of Disney's The Lion King franchise, serving as the main protagonist of Disney's 32nd full-length animated feature film The Lion King, the tritagonist of both The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and The Lion King 1½ and a supporting character in The Lion Guard.
He is the son of Mufasa and Sarabi, the nephew of Scar, the best friend and later husband of Nala, the father of Kiara and Kion, the father-in-law of Kovu and Rani, the son-in-law of Sarafina and Nala's father and the current King of The Pride Lands.
What Makes Him Love Exalted?[]
- While he use to be a brat in the beginning of the first film and was mischievous, Simba gets over it as an adult and becomes more mature as a result. In fact, seeing himself in his daughter Kiara, he is gentle when scolding her for disobeying him.
- He saves his best friend Nala from being killed by the hyenas, scratching Shenzi across the face to protect Nala from her. This shows his loyalty towards Nala, despite the two having gotten in an argument and fight just a few minutes ago, and Simba being annoyed at Nala for beating him.
- He doesn't get into an argument with his father when he fairly scolds him for disobeying his orders and going to the Elephant Graveyard when he wasn't suppose to. Also, Simba did feel remorse for what he did.
- He is shown to be kind to his uncle, Scar even though he doesn't show it back to him when he was a cub.
- When his father died, Simba felt remorse over it despite that it wasn't really his fault but Scar's. He also didn't know at the time Scar killed his father.
- He doesn't try to eat Timon and Pumbaa when he firsts meets them, despite being a lion. Instead, he shows friendliness towards them.
- He protected Timon and Pumbaa when Nala attacked them and was happy to see her after they reunite.
- While he didn't want to return to the Pridelands with Nala at first, Simba later changes his mind after a spirit Mufasa and Rafiki encouraged him.
- In the second film, while he was shown to be hostile to Kovu and even roared at his face at one point, it was mainly because he thought Kovu served as a threat to the Pridelands. However, he eventually realizes this shortcoming when Kovu is revealed not to be.
- After finding out that Scar killed his father, Simba threatens him to tell the truth about what happened.
- He doesn't kill Scar despite that fact he killed Mufasa.
- He fought Scar to save the Pridelands and end his tyranny.
- In fact this act was so admirable that the Pridelanders made a ceremony to celebrate Simba's win over Scar as shown in the Lion guard.
- He offers to spare Scar by telling him to leave the Pridelands and never come back, although Scar refuses to and still fights him.
- He is shown to be a very caring father towards his cubs Kiara and Kion and is also very protective of them, trying to follow the same example his own was to him.
- While he was overprotective of Kiara in the second film, this was pretty much due to losing his father as a cub and he didn't want to lose her as well.
- He told Timon and Pumbaa to look after Kiara as danger could strike anytime.
- While he did seem very worried about Kion being the new leader of the Lion Guard at first, it was understandable because Kion was a cub at the time and he did later accept him and his guard. So his reason to be worried for Kion isn't really preventable.
- He shows to be supportive of Kion as Leader of the Lion Guard and even helps him sometimes.
- When Kion was with Nala and Kiara, Simba takes over as Leader of the Lion Guard for a day.
- He forgives Kion even when does make mistakes.
- When Scar returned as a spirit, he and the Lion Guard protects the Pridelands from his army.
- When Kion was concerned about the Battle, Simba assures him that he and his friends will succeeded during the battle.
- When Scar tells him that Kion and the Lion Guard died in the fire, Simba (along with Nala and Kiara) were concerned and were refiled when they were revealed to be alive.
- He calls Kion noble for willing to forgive Janja, despite that Janja tried to kill him many times and agrees to listen what he has to say.
- He says goodbye to Kion along with his family and wished him and his Lion Guard good luck before they leave.
- He felt remorse for banishing Kovu after Kiara called him out and told him that he'll never be Mufasa.
- After Kiara and Kovu convinced him that the Pridelanders and Outlanders don't need to fight, he regrets his overprotectiveness towards Kiara and allows the Outlanders to join the Pridelanders, he even offered Zira a chance of redemption.
- When Kiara was in danger, Simba risks his life to save her from Zira and when Kiara fails to save Zira, Simba does not get mad at her and reconciles with her.
- He apologized to Kovu for being so hostile and untrusting towards him and accepts him as his son-in-law as well as the outsiders into the pride making Mufassa proud.
- He and Nala welcome Kion and the Lion Guard back to the Pridelands and explains what has been happening while they were gone.
