Let's go out there and make people SMILE!!!
~ Pim Pimling

Pim Pimling is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Charlie Dompler) of the Adult Swim animated comedy series Smiling Friends.

He is a small, purple critter employed by Smiling Friends Inc., a company that seeks to bring joy to their clients. He and his allies go on episodic adventures to help people smile, and he in particular is portrayed as unwieldy enthusiastic about his job, often at odds with Charlie’s more pessimistic realism.

He is voiced by series co-creator Micheal Cusack.

What Makes Him Love Exalted?[]

  • He is a benevolent, extremely optimistic and positive individual who loves making his clients smile. He will go great lengths to ensure their happiness, even when the odds seem stacked against him
  • In "Desmond's Big Day Out," he helps a suicidal Desmond cheer up by introducing him to his family, demonstrating the wonders of meeting new friends, and spending the rest of the day with him at an amusement park.
    • While this doesn't go as planned, the effort is commendable, and Desmond was indirectly saved by this endeavor after realizing he loves to exterminate bliblies.
  • In "Mr. Frog," he helps Mr. Frog try and improve his reputation and status after a series of controversies.
  • In "Shrimp's Odyssey," he abandons the idea of stealing Shrimp's presumed ex-girlfriend after seeing him cry over her, instead re-introducing them as originally planned.
  • In "Who Violently Murdered Simon S. Salty," he embarks on a journey with Charlie to solve the death of Simon S. Salty. They succeed with the help of the Century, and Pim helps bury him in the Changbai Pine Forest according to his final wish.
  • In "Enchanted Forest," Pim enthusiastically embarks on a quest into the enchanted forest in order to help the princess smile.
    • While he had an envious mental breakdown, he snapped out of it after his argument with Charlie accidentally killed Mip, a presumed ally, Pim proceeding to deliver his package in his name despite Mip granting him the opportunity to take credit for it.
  • In "Frowning Friends," Pim tries to help victims of the Frowning Friends such as DJ Spit, Mr. Man and 3D Squelton after nihilism and misery was instilled in them by the rival organization. Afterwards, he stands up against the Frowning Friends while they incite a riot, getting arrested by their enforcers in the process.
  • In “Gwimbly: Definitive Remastered Enhanced Extended Edition DX 4K (Anniversary Director’s Cut),” he helps the titular character stand up to his old company and spends the day trying to crowdfund an independent Gwimbly game, doing this even though Gwimbly initially insisted that he didn’t need any help.
  • In “Mr. President,” he attempts to help President Jimble become a better and more competent leader, eventually earning him the respect of the population when Jimble admits that he isn’t qualified.
  • In “Brother’s Egg,” he helps mend the relationship between Professor Psychotic and his brother, Doug, doing so by redirecting their priorities and reaffirming the importance of family.
  • In “The Magical Red Jewel (aka Tyler Gets Fired),” Pim forgives Oscar, even though the former tried to execute him, ultimately helping him feel better about his giant eye, from which he developed insecurities.
  • In “Pim Finally Turns Green,” Pim brings a snowman named Rotten to life and teaches him the joys of living, showing him various fun wintertime activities and trying to help him live forever.

Trivia[]

  • Pim is 34 years old.
  • A running gag in the show is that Pim will randomly give anyone and anything a kiss.
  • The "little hair" on his head is actually an exposed nerve ending.
  • He speaks in an Australian accent.
