Optimus, also known as Optimus Prime, is the main protagonist of the 2007 sci-fi action television series Transformers Animated. He is a space bridge repair technician who crash landed on Earth after finding the All-Spark on an asteroid. Waking up 50 years later, he became the protector of Detroit, battling the evil Decepticons.
He was voiced by David Kaye.
What Makes Him A Love Exalted[]
- Unlike his Autobot higher-ups, he does not view humanity as an inferior species and forms genuine bonds with some of them.
- He stopped the Decepticons from stealing the All-Spark.
- He protected Detroit from supervillains, mostly the Decepticons themselves, after his crew woke up on Earth.
- He was sympathetic to Blackarachnia after she was turned into a techno-organic by the spider aliens.
- He allowed Sari to live with his team after she was kicked out of Sumdac Tower.
- He mourned Prowl after he died.
- Even after everything he did, he refused to kill Megatron, telling him that it would be "the easy way out."
Trivia[]
- If Season 4 were produced, Optimus would have finally realized the true depravity Megatron had long accused the Autobot governing body of harboring, defeated Sentinel Prime and Megatron (likely upgraded into Galvatron) for good, and brought about a new golden age for Cybertron(and maybe even peaceful co-existence between humans and Transformers).
