Mirabel Madrigal is the main protagonist of Disney's 60th full-length animated feature film Encanto.
She is the youngest daughter of Agustín and Julieta, the youngest sister of Isabela and Luisa, the niece of Félix, Pepa, and Bruno, the granddaughter of Alma and the late Pedro, and the cousin of Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio. She is also the only member of her family not to have received a magical gift.
She is voiced by Stephanie Beatriz.
What Makes Her Love Exalted[]
- While she never received a gift herself, she was never consumed by envy towards the rest of her family and truly cares about them even though she is looked down upon.
- When Antonio becomes concerned about the ceremony, Mirabel comforts him and assures him that he will have a gift and will be fine.
- She shows no envy upon seeing Antonio receive his gift.
- She stands up to her grandmother Alma, rightfully calling her out for not deeming anyone good enough, driving Bruno away, and constantly scapegoating her for the family's problems. This shows how she’s realized that, with or without a gift, the whole family, not only her, actually struggles to live up to Alma's expectations.
- Despite all Alma had done, she was understanding and empathetic towards the trauma she had experienced from the loss of her husband.
- She helps her family realize their worth is more than just their magic.
