Mari is the overarching protagonist of the indie psychological horror game, OMORI

She is Sunny's older sister, who was killed tragically during an argument between the two, causing a schism in their friend group, Sunny to repress all memory of the incident and kicking off the events of the game.

What Makes Her Love Exalted?

• Her whole life, she was nurturing and caring towards her younger brother, Sunny, comforting him after having nightmares and always being there for him.
• Showed genuine love for her boyfriend, Hero.
• When Sunny nearly drowned in a lake, she swam down to save him, even crying in relief as she embraced him.
• Along with the rest of the friend group, she comforted Aubrey when she lost her shoe in the rain.
• While she is shown to have an unhealthily perfectionist side which indirectly leads to her death, she ultimately overcomes this flaw when she encourages Sunny to forgive himself as a spirit.
• Helps guide Sunny towards the truth, starting his path towards self-forgiveness and recovery.
