Kyo Sohma is one of the main characters of the anime/manga series, Fruits Basket and cursed by the Cat spirit of the Chinese Zodiac. He is the love interest & husband of Tohru Honda.
What Makes Him a Love Exalted?[]
- While, he was hostile towards Tohru at first, he slowly warms up to her as they get along quite well. He is also protective of her.
- He decided to go along with Yuki to find Tohru's family address and bring her back home to Shigure's place, when she pleaded to stay with them.
- When Tohru was sick, he cooked leek soup for her to recover.
- He protected Tohru from Hatsuharu's rage in the classroom.
- When he found out that Tohru was injured from falling off a cliff; he stood by her side, comforts and kisses her as he loves her.
- Due to Tohru's nurturing care, he became more selfless and considerate towards other people.
- His moments/fights with Yuki are pretty funny and awesome.
- He develops a good relationship with adoptive father, Kazuma..
- He reveals his secret to Tohru about her mother's death and wished he could have saved her, but unfortunately; because of his curse, he couldn't and feels extremely guilty.
- After Yuki gave him a pep talk, he develops the courage to go visit Tohru at the hospital.
- He visits his abusive, biological father and told him that everything that happened to his mother's death was his fault (though Kyo didn't do anything wrong, as he was being humble to forgive his father's abuse and cruelty to his family), cutting him out of his life.
- He apologizes to Tohru for not visiting her at the hospital, kisses her again, and broke the Sohma curse along with her.
- He reforms all of his corrupting qualities at the end of the series.
