Jovie

Jovie is the tritagonist of the 2003 Christmas film Elf. She is Buddy Hobbs' love interest and later wife.

She is played by Zooey Deschanel.

What Makes Her Love Exalted?[]

Her mere presence in Gimbel's is enough to make Buddy fall in love with her.
She tells Buddy about how she doesn't sing in public, which leads to Buddy telling her about how it was the same thing when one sings by himself or herself or when one sings in public by singing a short song in the store.
She smiles when Buddy compliments her by saying that she has the most beautiful singing voice in the whole wide world.
She suggests to Buddy that they go on a date next Thursday when Buddy gets the courage to ask her out.
During the date, she has a wonderful time with Buddy and even shares a first kiss with him.
She decides to face her fear of singing in public, singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" to a crowd of people. They all joined in with her, raising the Christmas Spirit meter, allowing Santa's sleigh to fly, and saving Christmas.
She marries Buddy and they spend many Christmases together, having a baby girl named Susie.
Overall, she is initially shown to be bitter and standoffish at the beginning of the film, but softens up by the end thanks to Buddy's kindness.
