Jean Valjean is the main protagonist of Victor Hugo's book, Les Miserables and the many adaptations.

What Makes Him Love Exalted?[]

Despite being a thief, he does it to help his family out of desperation.
Even though a man hated him, he saved his life.
He saves an innocent man from going to prison and has his place taken instead.
He admits his criminal past to Marius, forgives him, and reconciles with him before passing away.

He's one of the earliest Love Exalted characters in all of media, only coming second to Santa Claus.
- He's also the earliest Book Love Exalted.
He's so far the only Love Exalted from Les Misérables, and also the only Love Exalted by Victor Hugo.
