Donkey is the deuteragonist of the franchise named Shrek.
He is voiced by comedian Eddie Murphy who also voiced Mushu in Disney's Mulan.
What Makes Him Love Exalted?[]
Shrek[]
- Upon running into Shrek for first time, Donkey sees quickly that Shrek can be a good person rather than a feared ogre.
- Despite Shrek being rude to him, Donkey never gives up on him.
- He goes with Shrek to save Princess Fiona.
- He tries to get Shrek to open up about his reasons for wanting to block everyone off. When Shrek states that everyone judged him before they know him, Donkey reminded him that he didn't view Shrek as just an angry ogre.
- After learning Fiona was half-ogre, he comforts her, telling her that Shrek was someone who cared about her and encourages her to tell Shrek the truth.
- Donkey tries to stop Shrek from leaving when Lord Farquaad arrives and takes Fiona with him.
- After realizing that Shrek and Fiona belong together, Donkey returns to Shrek's swamp and explains to Shrek that Fiona wasn't talking about him.
- When Shrek calls for helps Donkey and Dragon come to the rescue by devouring Farquaad after he threatened to banish Fiona for life and to drawn and quarter Shrek.
Shrek 2[]
- When Shrek is attacked by Puss In Boots, Donkey attempts to stop the cat.
- When Shrek requires a potion so that he can turn into a human so that others can accept him, Donkey helps him with this quest.
- He assists Shrek reach Fiona before she is in love with Prince Charming.
- Donkey rightfully calls King Harold out for hypocritically judging Shrek when it's revealed that he was actually a frog.
Shrek the Third[]
- He goes with Shrek in order to help find the next heir to the kingdom of Far Far Away.
- When two people at the high school bully Arthur, Donkey rightfully tells them that they should be ashamed of themselves.
- He frees his children and friends from imprisonment.
- When Arthur attempts to leave after Shrek claimed he was using him, both Donkey and Puss remind Arthur that Shrek only said those things to deceive Prince Charming and to save his life.
Shrek Forever After[]
- In the alternate timeline, Donkey is aggressive towards Shrek at first, but after seeing Shrek cry, he realizes that Shrek is a good person and chooses to help him.
- He helps Shrek find the exit clause in Rumpelstiltskin's contract.
