Princess Charlotte "Charlie" Morningstar is the main protagonist of the adult animated musical comedy Hazbin Hotel. She is the daughter of Lucifer Morningstar and Lilith and founder of the titular Hazbin Hotel. She is an optimistic princess of Hell who seeks to rehabilitate sinners.
She is voiced by Jill Harris in the pilot and by Erika Henningsen in the series.
What Makes Her Loved Exalted?[]
- Despite being the princess of Hell, she is a kind, optimistic, caring, and very forgiving person. No matter how depraved and vile her kingdom is, she will always care for look out for their well-being.
- When she first found Vaggie (unaware that she was an exorcist angel at the time) lying in an alley and very close to death, she gracefully bandaged up her wounds without a second thought which helped her survive.
- It's also shown that through their general interactions: Charlie helping her in her time of need & because she was the first person ever (including her father) to show genuine support to the things she's doing, it's what ultimately led to her & Vaggie falling in love with each other & enter a loving relationship.
- Having grown tired of the yearly exterminations, Charlie decides to open up a Hotel called the "Happy Hotel" (later renamed to the "HAZBIN Hotel") for the purpose is to help rehabilitating sinners so they can all ascend into heaven as a more humane way of solving hell's overpopulation crisis, despite receiving colossal amounts of mockery by everyone else.
- When Alastor arrives at her doorstep to "help" her despite obviously not believing in her cause entirely, as well as clearly seeing he's got more on his mind than he's saying, Charlie still allows her to help with the Hotel project.
- Despite how obnoxious Adam is during their meeting, she tries to keep her composure and act respectfully. She only starts to get angry when he insults her plan to help sinners and says that they all deserve a second death.
- When it’s revealed Sir Pentious was a spy, despite Vaggie and Angel Dust wanting to kill him, Charlie forgave Sir Pentious, and allowed him to stay as a real guest.
- When she sees Valentino abusing Angel Dust, she is enraged and aims to punish Val, showing just how much she cares for Angel Dust's well-being. She is only stopped when Angel tells her to leave.
- After Angel comes back to hotel with Husk, she tearfully apologizes to Angel, and began crying tears of joy after Angel forgave her.
- She, along with Emily, called out Sera and Heaven for their hypocrisy.
- While she was heartbroken and upset that Vaggie kept her being an angel a secret from her, She still accepts her for who she is after she went to go get help for defending the hotel.
- She was saddened when Adam killed Sir Pentious.
- She stopped Lucifer from killing Adam.
- She felt remorse for Sir Pentious’ death, and the destruction of the Hazbin Hotel (even though it wasn’t her fault).
- She happily embraced Alastor when he came back.
