While mainly due to some fatal flaw, these Love Exalted heroes have less control over their emotions and have suffered some circumstances so unfortunate that they win over the sympathy of the audience, as they didn't choose to be alone, they are victims of misfortune. Tragic heroes commonly have their unfulfilled or broken dreams.

There are many ways to deem a Love Exalted tragic:

  • Heroes who have or had problems with their family and friends such as:
    • Those who lost their loved ones.
    • Those who are related to villains and they have to fight them.
  • Heroes who grew up or live in less than acceptable conditions:
    • Poor Love Exalted who have little to no money.
    • Heroes who grow up in a society that does awful or unwantable actions: Hiccup (who was raised in a Viking clan that wanted to get rid of any dragons from their village despite them having some sentience).
    • Outcasts who desire to be with and or loved by the people around them: Deku (who was born Quirkless and mocked because of it, with almost no one believing he had what it takes to be a hero); Maddie (who is venomous taipan and was feared and abused by people because of it).
  • Heroes who has a troubled relationships with/is being mistreated by others. (Whether it be from bullying, an abusive relationship, being descriminated, etc.)
    • Possessed/Brainwashed or Misguided Pure Goods who have done wrong things without their own choice.
    • Heroes who were exposed to forces which brought out their darkest qualities or were slowly killing them, but searched for help, or used it as an excuse to take up heroism.
    • Remorseful Heroes who deeply regret actions they have done in the past, to the point where it affects their mental health.
    • Heroes who brought their misery upon themselves, but take responsibility for their own actions or feel great remorse for them.
    • Heroes who are deformed, crippled, sick, hurting or otherwise suffering from health problems, but their physical or mental issues don't prevent them from being admirable.
  • In many cases they have a mixture of the circumstances above.

They are the lovable opposite of Fake Tragic Hate Sinks and Minor Tragic Hate Sinks.
