“ | I thought I was a hardcore horror movie fan, but I was living a lie! Tell me, is it wrong for a punk rock chick living in a haunted, malevolent mansion to be touched by the magical friendship of a pony? | „ |
~ Carrie in "The Pony." |
Carrie Krueger is a supporting character in the Cartoon Network animated sitcom The Amazing World of Gumball. She is a ghost and a student at Elmore Junior High, often helping the main characters navigate paranormal situations. She is Darwin's love interest and eventual girlfriend.
She is voiced by Jessica McDonald.
What Makes Her Love Exalted?[]
- She is a social floater who will talk to anyone, possibly because Elmore Junior High lacks other emos; regularly interacting with the other girls and usually participating in Gumball and the rest of the class' antics.
- She is shown to be very selfless, as in "The Scam" she was willing to marry the monster known as Gargaroth and be his bride for eternity if it meant saving the world, and in "Halloween" she was willing to sacrifice herself for Gumball and Darwin to advance in saving their sister.
- She cares about her family, as shown when she embraces her distant father in "The Mirror" and catches up with her mother in "The Drama." The same episode also shows that she cares about and is on good terms with her ex-boyfriend, Azrael.
- She retrieved the Forbidden Book from the Underworld to save her father from an evil curse that had made him a trapped, malevolent demon for years, which also subsequently freed Gumball's entire immediate family from his grasp in "The Mirror".
- In "The Flower," due to her supernatural knowledge she is the primary reason that Penny, Leslie and Darwin were able to exorcise the Jealousy out of Gumball and eventually destroy it, returning him to his true self and preventing further harm to both himself and others.
- She is capable of compassion, as shown in "Halloween" when she seems genuinely concerned for Gumball and Darwin's safety and tries to help them save themselves and their sister Anais from becoming ghosts forever or being sent to the Underworld by helping them retrieve their bodies before midnight, being visibly upset when she thought they had been trapped in the underworld.
- In general, she offers sound emotional and material advice to the other characters in the series and is a good, supportive friend, especially to Gumball and her boyfriend, Darwin, whom she routinely expresses love towards.
