William "Bill" Overbeck is one of the four playable Survivors in Left 4 Dead. Bill dies before the events of Left 4 Dead 2's "The Passing" during the canonical events of The Sacrifice. He heroically sacrifices himself by facing multiple Tanks to raise the bridge, ensuring his team's survival from an oncoming horde.
