“ | Looked dead, didn't I? Well, I wasn't. But it wasn't from lack of trying, I can tell you that. Actually Bill's last bullet put me in a coma--a coma I was to lie in for four years. When I woke up, I went on what the movie advertisements refer to as... 'A roaring rampage of revenge.' I roared and I rampaged, and I got bloody satisfaction. I've killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point, but I have only one more. The last one. The one I'm driving to right now. The only one left. And when I arrive at my destination, I am gonna kill Bill. | „ |
~ Beatrix Kiddo |
Beatrix Michelle Kiddo, also known as The Bride and Black Mamba, is the main protagonist of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill duology.
She is a former assassin who ran away from her past life after learning that she was pregnant, only for her old team the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad to track her down and kill everyone she had met in her new life and putting her in a coma. After she recovers and wakes up from the coma, she goes on a quest for revenge against the people who harmed her, including Bill, her former lover who shot her in the head.
She was portrayed by Uma Thurman.
What Makes Her Love Exalted?[]
- While she was an assassin at one point, she was significantly more honorable than all of the other members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad and was not outright sadistic.
- After learning she was pregnant, she left behind her life as an assassin in order to seek a better life for her child.
- She goes on a quest to get revenge on the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad after the wedding massacre, getting justice for the murders they have committed and putting an end to killers like Elle Driver who was still an active assassin following the wedding massacre unlike the others.
- She is completely against harming children during her revenge quest, not wanting to kill Vernita in front of her daughter Nikki, attempting to talk Gogo Yubari down from fighting, and sparing a member of the Crazy 88 due to him being a teenager.
- She is not sadistic in the majority of her revenge, being visibly shaken at the death of O-Ren as they were implied to be good friends and crying after killing Bill since the two were once in love.
- The only exceptions to this rule are when she amputated Sofie Fatale's remaining arm when interrogating her about the remaining Deadly Vipers' locations and when she took out Elle Driver's remaining eye after the latter bragged about killing their master, Pai Mei, by poisoning his fish heads. However, these two acts do not exempt her from being Love Exalted, as Sofie had insulted Beatrix and refused to give her answers prior to her amputating her remaining arm, and Elle had no regrets over either the wedding massacre or murdering Pai Mei, even sadistically laughing about the latter act.
- After finally killing Bill and learning that her daughter is alive, she completely abandons her life as a killer and takes her daughter to live a normal life away from violence.
