Atreus, also known as Boy and his giant name Loki, is the deuteragonist of the Norse Era of the action-adventure fantasy video game franchise God of War.

He is the second child of Kratos with his second wife named Laufey, and Kratos' first child not to be born in Greece. Born in Scandinavia, his father taught him all the means to survive in a harsh world by learning how to use a bow and arrow. Through the journey, he learned of his God and Jötun heritage. In the secret ending, Atreus felt the future of Fimbulwinter destruction and Ragnarök begins when he and Kratos encountered Thor.

In the God of War Ragnarök, Atreus has grown up during the period, and has developed more abilities. He and Kratos go on another journey to end Ragnarök by searching for Tyr, and later building an army to fight against Odin.

He is portrayed by Sunny Suljic. In the Japanese version, he was voiced by Yumiko Kobayashi in 2018's God of War (IV) and Tomo Muranaka in God of War Ragnarök.

What Makes Him Love Exalted?[]

  • He pushed his father into helping civilians and spirits in the side-quests, thus beginning Kratos's journey to open his heart towards the suffering of the realm.
  • Despite gaining arrogance after learning of his divine parentage, Atreus abandoned most of his corrupting traits after getting the party sent to Helheim.
  • He protected his father several times.
  • He prayed to his mother when she died and was shown to be heartbroken by her death, showing that he loved his mother.
  • Unknowingly, Atreus transfers Fenrir's soul into his knife as the wolf passes away. This act preserves Fenrir's spirit, allowing it to live on in a new form.
  • Told his father that it was not his fault of anger or mistreatment to make him go to Asgard without his permission, and told his father not to be sorry, but to be better, which ultimately made Kratos smile, who considered that he doesn't do that too much.
