Ariel is the protagonist of Disney's The Little Mermaid franchise. She is a teenage mermaid who wants to become human, and makes a deal with the sea witch Ursula to do so.
She is voiced by Jodi Benson, who also voiced Thumbelina in the 1994 film of the same name and Barbie in Toy Story.
What Makes Her Love Exalted?[]
- She's optimistic and adventurous.
- She loves Flounder and often protects him and saves him when he's in danger.
- She often helps others and teaches them about friendship, and tries to overcome prejudice wherever she sees it.
- She's fascinated by humans and tries to convince her father that they're not all bad.
- She befriends a deaf mermaid and helps her overcome her depression.
- She often saves Atlantica from being taken over by the Evil Manta or other villains.
- She stops the Evil Manta's plan to spread prejudice, singing to the sea creatures and convincing them to live in harmony.
- She saves a baby whale from some sharks and teaches him to stand up for himself.
- She befriends the Manta's son and teaches him about friendship, trying to convince others that he isn't evil.
- She saves the Evil Manta from being killed by his brain sponge, which is implied to redeem him.
- She takes on a shark to save Flounder from being eaten.
- She saves Eric from drowning.
- She's determined to win Eric's love despite not having her voice.
- She saves Eric from being killed by Ursula, destroying Flotsam and Jetsam in the process.
- She rescues her daughter from Morgana.
